What:
Petroglyphs that are in from Rock Island are now in a museum called the North Central Washinton Museum in Wenatchee. There are supposed to be more petroglyphs in a nearby park, but I hunted for hours in five parks and not one person including the geneology library archive research folks knew of any. Let me know if you find them.
Where:
From Spokane take Hwy 2 West all the way to the Columbia River and there go south along the river's east side until you see signs into Wenatchee proper, not East Wenatchee. You will need to cross the river here. Stay on the main drag into Wenatchee and after passing the Burger King and McDonalds, stay on the main drag until passing the fair size park on your right in front of the courthouse. Then after a couple of more blocks to be safe, take a left and go down to Mission and take another left. Now you will be watching for 127 Mission on your right you will see the Museum. Charge is $3.00 except free on Mondays. Hours: Monday-Saturday 10am-4pm. Phone: 509-664-3340
