| What: Petroglyphs that were moved when John Day Dam flooded their original area. A park called 'Petroglyph park was create on Hwy 14 to house these varietous carvings. This is a strange place unlike anywhere I have been in that it is a park that has been forgotten or abandoned or whatever. Someone has let cows graze over it. It is hidden from the Hwy by large old willow trees that must have been planted around the park by the Corps of Engineers that created the park. Outhouses have been turned over, barbecue pits filled with garbage. The petroglyphs have been damaged by some local person painting over them I heard in town, but they still are there incredibly wonderful as ever. Over 20 boulders full of ancient rock art.
