Salmon Smoking Pit
	This rock formation is well hidden in a large forest, but fairly close to the river source of the salmon. What you see upon approaching it is a rock formation like a huge mound.

What: This was a salmon smoking pit area above the Spokane river in Riverside State Park. Below it are numerous teepee circles where the earth was dug into a few feet and then the teepee was put over it for extra insulation. I wish that permissions could be granted to visit this site with a guide since it is an interesting place to visit. When I first discovered this place I gave the location and it was the most visited site on the website, but then the Park ranger shut that down after requests from the Spokane tribe.

Where: Not allowed to give location of this site as it is considered sacred by the Spokane tribe.
