Midden beach at Compton, many feet deep, 1000s of Native history years
Notice black bear on shore rummaging through the shells, we rest for a
few moments to eat lunch
We land on Mamalillaculla and pull the kayaks up the war ledge for
unpacking; see numerous island in rear for exploring
The history here is multi-leveled, see longhouse skeleton, dense berry
bushes, watch for bears
